Two footprinting tools – for policy makers and for individuals and communities – have been launched online. Both tools – EUREAPA and REAP Petite – build on development work by WWF Cymru and other members of the Footprint Wales network, including the Welsh Government and local authorities. The EUREAPA tool has now been taken up across the whole of the European Union.
The One Planet Economy Network EU project (OPEN:EU) launched the EUREAPA tool. Using detailed carbon, ecological and water footprint indicators, it provides the full supply chain impacts associated with 62 product categories covering the food people eat, their housing and transportation, and other goods and services they consume.
The EUREAPA tool can be accessed at:

Meanwhile, a new, free online tool has been launched by the Stockholm Environment Institute at the University of York, which they hope will help individuals and community groups to calculate their environmental impact.
The ‘REAP Petite’ tool allows community groups, schools, clubs or workplaces to compare their individual or household carbon and ecological footprints with their peers, and with the UK average.
